Roost was founded in 2014 by wireless communications veterans with the goal of simplifying smart home products and making them affordable for everyone who wants them. Based in California, Roost introduced its award-winning Roost Smart Battery that turned every smoke detector into a smart smoke detector. This was followed by the Roost Leak and Freeze detector, used by over 200,000 homes across North America. Roost now designs its 2nd generation products using Cellular technology to make the smart home even easier and more affordable for everyone.

The Roost Home Security System consists of 7 sensors, a keypad, and a SmartHub. The wireless system communicates to the Roost cloud using encrypted cellular technology with Wi-Fi backup. The sensors and keypad communicate to the SmartHub using frequency hopping encryption techniques that are virtually un-hackable. All data is stored in Roost’s cloud, based in the United States. System alerts are sent to the owner via smartphone and are also professionally monitored 24/7. Fire and Police are dispatched to the owner’s address when requested.

The Roost Home Water & Freeze Protection System was recently launched to give customers a lower cost entry to Roost’s flagship Home Security System. By installing the SmartHub and two leak and freeze sensors, your home is protected from a significant cause of damage and insurance claims. And when you are ready, you can upgrade the system to a complete home security system.

The Roost Commercial Water & Freeze Protection System was developed to address the concerns of small to mid-size commercial property owners and tenants. Its standard kit includes a SmartBase and two leak and freeze detectors, and can be configured to include the exact number of sensors required to protect every source of leaks and potential freeze in the property.
